Houston area interior designers will talk about luxury design and design for people with disabilities at the Feb. 20 Access Design event, co-sponsored by the Houston Chronicle and the Houston Design Center.

Saima Seyar of Elima Designs, will speak on “Green Luxury Design” and explore how high-end luxury furniture makers are embracing sustainability for an audience increasingly interested in taking care of the planet. Shundra Harris, of Shundra Harris Interiors, will speak on “Bridging the Gap: Design for People with Disabilities. Harris will talk about how design can help those with post-traumatic stress disorder or with developmental, cognitive or physical disabilities.

The event will be from 3-5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20, in the Leisure Collections showroom at the design center, 7026 Old Katy Road, Suite 152. Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased at designexperts.eventbrite.com. There will be a drawing for door prizes, including a variety of current coffee table books.
