Office Manager / Bookkeeper

Job Description:

We are an established interior design firm in Houston looking for a qualified office manager/bookkeeper to manage day-to-day operations of business. Candidate MUST have relevant experience, and a working knowledge of Quickbooks Enterprise, Microsoft Office, Excel, and ADP. Position will report directly to the president, and is available to start immediately.

Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:

  • Process client deposits and payment
  • Verify invoices, process checks and maintain Accounts Payable
  • Generate Client Invoices, Prepare and Send Client Billing (AR)
  • Handle all maintenance and IT requests/issues
  • Reconcile monthly bank and credit card accounts, make deposits
  • Develop and Communicate with owner monthly P&L, budget forecasts
  • Communicate with Accountant to process monthly and yearly Tax filings
  • Assist in hiring, selection, and orientation of new employees
  • Process bi-weekly Payroll using ADP software, Maintain Employee records
  • Make new inventory entries and maintain inventory in showroom
  • Manage office systems – computers, copier, telephones, alarm, email
  • Keep accurate and organized records
  • Order office supplies
  • Answer office phone calls, keep an organized desk area and office.
  • Uphold company core values at all times.

Candidates must display the following qualifications:

  • 2 years of administrative experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree highly preferred.
  • Critical Thinker.
  • Positive attitude with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments.
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.

Interior Designer:

Job Description: 

Design House is seeking a full time experienced designer interested in building relationships with prospective and current clients and working with a creative and collaborative team.

Responsibilities:

  • Has existing clientele or the ability to establish new clients.
  • Work with team to design, present, and spec a variety of design solutions to suit diverse clients
  • Supports oversight of all design budgets, schedules, scope development, design and construction documents, procedures and controls for assigned projects
  • Maintain client relationships

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong design skills including development of concepts, schematic design, branding, lighting, furniture and finishes, codes and budgets.
  • Collaborate with individuals throughout the company in a strong team-oriented approach
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deliver efficiently in a fast-paced atmosphere
  • Clearly communicate ideas and details of design
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design with at least 5 years or more of diversified interior design experience

  • High level competency of AutoCAD and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Design Showroom/Studio Intern:

Job Description: 

Design House is seeking an interior design major in their senior year.  This person is to assist in the design studio and showroom by determining space requirements and selecting decorative items for our clients.  This intern should be prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment, and will finish the internship having gained broad experience in various aspects of interior design.

Responsibilities:

  • Sketch preliminary design plans, including electrical layouts
  • Assist customers in specking furnishings for projects
  • Place orders for materials and oversee installing the design elements
  • Maintain showroom appearance

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
