Four award-winning interior designers participated in the inaugural Access Design event hosted by the Houston Chronicle and the Houston Design Center.

The free event drew capacity crowds on two days to hear Pamela O’Brien of Pamela Hope Designs, Lucinda Loya of Lucinda Loya Interiors, Julie Dodson of Dodson Interiors and Missy Stewart of Missy Stewart Interior Designs.

O’Brien talked about kitchen- and bath-remodeling trends while Loya talked about her homes in Houston, New York and Kentucky. Dodson discussed using antiques with more current furnishings, and Stewart showed before-and-after transformations of some of her favorite projects. The events were held in the Kitchen and Bath Concepts and James Craig Furnishings showrooms at the Houston Design Center.

Access Design will be a quarterly event; the next is slated for Aug. 24-25, during the design center’s annual summer sample sale.
