The Houston Design Center and co-presenter Houston Design Resources Magazine held the 10th Annual Cruise Party and Open House on Thursday, June 11. More than $4,800 was raised to benefit the ASID Texas Gulf Coast Chapter Student Scholarship Fund.
Nearly 450 invited guests attended the Cruise Party and enjoyed Caribbean drinks by Brugal Rum, award-winning wines of ZONIN, cool cocktails from Deep Eddy Vodka and island fantasy décor from For All Occasions. Entertainment was provided by Mark Towns.

Ernie Manouse from Houston PBS presided over the awards presentation which included the passport drawing. Jay Crowe won the Grand Prize – a $1,000 gift certificate for Carnival Cruise for 2 to the Western Caribbean. Oher prizes included a hand-knotted Oushak Rug from LGI Oriental Rugs, a Red Vault membership package, LeGrand video intercom system, a $500 gift certificate at For All Occasions, a night on the town with Audi Central Houston at Anejo Restaurant, a $250 gift certificate from David Brown Flowers, an aquarium from Fish Gallery and Baccarat wine glasses.

Guests bid on unique one-of-a-kind designer furnishings and services at the Silent Auction. More than $4,800 was raised that goes directly to the local ASID Scholarship Fund benefitting students studying interior design.

The 10th Annual Cruise Party was a celebration of the 40th anniversary of The American Society of Interior Designers, the 30th anniversary of The Houston Design Center, and the 20th anniversary of Houston Design Resources magazine.
