The Houston Design Center recently hosted the 8th Annual DECK THE TABLES, and Holiday Tabletop Tour providing hundreds of toys and monetary donations to benefit the Memorial Assistances Ministries (MAM) Christmas Share Program.

MAM’s mission is to help families and individuals who find themselves in temporary crisis and in need of assistance to maintain self-sufficiency and avoid homelessness.  As a tax-deductible Section 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, MAM provides emergency and financial assistance and other services designed to put clients back on their feet, largely the working poor faced with immediate and critical personal and family situations

Throughout the four-day event the public toured exquisite holiday tabletop décor created by some of Houston’s finest design professionals including Tricia FoleyConnie LeFevreThe Design House StaffMadeleine Elmer of Fleur de VieCorbin YoungLisa Kraus-Smolen, floral designer Marcus Martin,  Ariana Smetna with Art ViaChristofle, and Shayna Hawkins.

Participating showrooms included Charles Ray & AssociatesCharlotte Nail AntiquesDauphin SalesDesign House, Inc.Ken Kehoe & Co., Postmodern TraditionsOsborne Cabinets & Millwork and Thorntree Slate & Marble.

The four-day event kicked off with an opening party that included a special appearance with New York designer Tricia Foley, the author of 10 lifestyle and design books. Ms. Foley  presented  her new book “LifeStyle Elegant Simplicity at Home” and signed copies for the guests attending.

Voting for people’s favorite table top took place on-line and the winner was for “Northern Lights” at Design House and “Toile La La” at Osborne Cabinets and Millwork came in second.
