PaperCity Magazine Features Design Awards and HDC 30th Anniversary

In 1985, 17-year-old Boris Becker becomes the youngest man to win Wimbledon; President Reagan and Soviet Leader Gorbachev meet for the first time in Switzerland; and the Houston Design Center opens! Back then, it was named the International Design Resource Center and later shortened to the Resource Center, but by its sheer existence, this facility validated the significance and importance of Houston’s design services industry by allowing these businesses to gather under one moniker for the first time in the city’s history.
