The Meaning of Home by Jeffrey Alan Marks: the luxe homes designed by one of Bravo TV’s Million Dollar Decorators explores his breezy, tailored look. Specializing in residential and commercial interior design and architecture and inspired by his Southern California outdoor lifestyle, Marks’s trademark look is a synthesis of a fresh informality infused with sophisticated English and European accents.
Suzanne Kasler is known for her classically inspired rooms, pretty palettes, and comfortable spaces. She brings Southern charm, European sensibility, and a respect for architectural details to her interiors. Her new book Timeless Style is lavishly illustrated and showcases the range of Kasler’s projects, from a luxurious Georgian mansion in Atlanta’s Buckhead to a sophisticated farmhouse in Tennessee and a beach house in Watersound, Florida. Offering a wealth of original design ideas that are refreshing and full of verve, Timeless Style is a welcome addition to any library of interior design books.
Tom Scheerer Decorates shows the magic in the way Scheerer combines classic, old-fashioned decorating with modernist touches à la Albert Hadley and Billy Baldwin, but with a keener attention to natural materials, unpretentious vernacular crafts, and the prettiest color combinations this side of India. He cherishes the simplest, least manipulated fabrics—cottons, linens, dimities—and loves certain inexpensive accents as much as he does truly fine ones. All this adds up to fresh, relaxed interiors that look like no others. Exquisitely photographed, this is the long-awaited first book of Scheerer’s work, and it’s a must for all lovers of interior design.
The Fall Design Market to be held Tuesday, October 29 – Wednesday, October 30, 2013 will include lectures, design seminars, open houses and continuing education classes.
