The Houston Design Center Hosts 10 th Annual DECK THE TABLES Luxury Design Facility Holiday Tabletop Event Benefited MAM Toy Drive

The Houston Design Center held the 10th Annual DECK THE TABLES, Holiday Tabletop Tour Tuesday December 5th through Friday December 8th featuring NYC celebrity event planner DeJuan Stroud. 

More than 350 guests enjoyed the opening night festivities with Holiday music and festive hospitality as they toured sampling of the exquisite tabletop décor in participating showrooms including ASID, Alkusari Stone, Charlotte Nail Antiques, Corbin Young Design, Design House, Dream Theaters, Leisure Collections, MAI Memorial Antiques + Interiors, Off White, Silsby Nunes and Thorntree Slate & Marble.

Celebrity event planner DeJuan Stroud showcased his holiday table scape “ An Elegant Rustic Christmas ” in the Alkusari Stone showroom expressly for the event . Mr. Stroud selected luxury French tabletop leader Christofle for flatware service and L’Objet din nerware and ornaments . His centerpiece s included red roses with calla lilies woven through golden globes , surrounded by candlelight . DeJuan Stroud is known for elegant weddings, celebrity events, and movie premieres, but his dream is to inspire and encourage everyone to bring flowers and beauty into their lives in an effortless way. In his first book, DESIGNING L IFE’S CELEBRATIONS , he presents seventeen at – home celebrations featuring spectacular tabletops, glorious centerpieces, and simple how – to floral projects. Mr. Stroud offered guests insider tips on fine table design for the Holidays.

“ Goodbye Harvey, Hello Hygge” table scape won Best of Show and Best Theme at Design House; Best Use of Color winner was “ Winter Solstice Celebration ” at Thorntree Slate & Marbl e; Best Use of Florals and Greenery winner was “Holiday in the Garden” at Leisure Collections; Best Dinner Service winner was “ An Elegant Rustic Christmas ” at Alkusari Stone; and Most Creative winner was “ Hollywood Regency” at Off White. People’s Choice aw ard was given to “ Winter Solstice Celebration ” at Thorntree Slate & Marble.

Deck The Tables benefited Memorial Assistances Ministries (MAM) Toy Drive. MAM’s mission is to help families and individuals who find themselves in temporary crisis and in need of assistance to maintain self-sufficiency and avoid homelessness. As a tax-deductible Section 501©(3) non-profit organization, MAM provides emergency and financial assistance and other services designed to put clients back on their feet, largely the working poor faced with immediate and critical personal and family situations.
